Interior Design for a Wine Shop in a Gastronomy Market

Ключевая информация

Расположение:Yekaterinburg, Russia
Статус:proj

Год:2024
Площадь:82 м²

The client’s profile is influenced by the food mall’s location on the route from Yekaterinburg to cottage communities.

The concept encourages purchasing both wines and delicacies along the way. The interior aims to evoke the ambiance of a gourmet club—classic yet with elements of a festive atmosphere.

Warmth for the guests. Respect for the wine

The culture of drinking rare wines is gaining momentum around the world. Wine boutiques themselves are imbued with a sense of anticipation and celebration — something that should be reflected in the interior, while avoiding unnecessary snobbery. The wine boutique is designed as a single open space, visually divided into two areas: the retail wine section itself and a more private tasting zone. A wooden shelving unit serves as the divider between them.

The cashier area is finished in light-toned concrete, making it visually distinct and easy for guests to identify.

The design concept evokes the atmosphere of a private members’ club: dark walls, wood finishes, subdued lighting, and the subtle gleam of metal. Here, exceptional wines are kept in climate-controlled wine cabinets, like museum rarities.

The interior is designed to be equally considerate of both guests and wines — each requires a special approach. The wine boutique offers several scenarios for visiting. Guests can not only purchase wine, but also enjoy its bouquet at the stone bar counter. We also created a dedicated workspace for the sommelier, allowing them to fully present their craft to guests.

Materials and Accents

A light brass wave at the top, resembling a sandy beach somewhere in southern France. One can easily imagine being at an old vineyard and, after a walk through green vineyards, being invited into a tasting room. The aroma, coolness, and play of reflections in the metal finish.

The entire length of the ceiling is decorated with waves of brass mesh, integrated with light fixtures. This technique creates a complex and visually light volume, symbolizing the golden shimmer of sand.

American walnut veneer with a bitter chocolate tint is used for the finish. The clinker brick gives the room a more rugged character and contrasts with the shine of brass. Large pots with live plants look particularly good against this background, symbolizing neat grapevines. This combination of simplicity and luxury represents the golden mean needed to create a corner of hedonism.

Wine Boutique Floor Plan

“Since the brief included not only a wine boutique but also a bar area, we reflected this in the interior,» says Maria Rogulina, Head of Design at CNTR. «First, visitors move through a sequence of wine shelving, then the cashier area, and only after that arrive at the intimate tasting space, where they can relax while the sommelier works their quiet magic.»

When developing retail interiors, the bureau’s team conducts research and takes into account the operational nuances of the business, allowing the space itself to shape the guests’ mood.
