A client from Yekaterinburg approached us with a brief for the interior of an urban café within a food hall. The space is compact — 87 m² — and located on the ground floor of a building with high ceilings and large windows. In developing the concept, we paid tribute to the power of place: the capital of the Urals sits at the meeting point of Europe and Asia. The fusion-style interior therefore incorporates recognisable features of different world cultures. Shades of blue and terracotta interact throughout the space, creating a contrast between «warm» and «cool».
Visually, the café offers a sense of openness and abundant daylight, making it possible to vary visitor scenarios depending on the time of day. The compact dining area includes different seating formats and an open kitchen located behind a terracotta arched wall. The design preserves the aesthetic of raw concrete, leaves the ceiling services exposed, and uses plaster with a pronounced texture.

Our task was to create the interior of a contemporary urban café — warm and welcoming, with slightly ironic decor and references to craftsmanship and authentic materials. The venue offers a classic approach to gastronomy, an open kitchen, and signature dishes inspired by world cuisine. The result is a composite image shaped around the theme of multicultural travel.
Arches in the warm tone of fired clay act as an accent reminiscent of sunny Italy, while the rough tabletops evoke the shores of the Russian North. Concrete columns marked with symbolic signs and blue hieroglyph-like graphics feel like a fragment of Tokyo.
The interior is built around three shades: white ceramic tile, appetising terracotta, and an unusual variation of blue. Textured surfaces dominate throughout — unfinished wood, textured concrete, custom ceramics, and hammered metal — all chosen to create a sense of contact with natural materials.
We introduced several art objects that will serve as backdrops for selfie points. The result is a place designed equally well for friendly gatherings and dates, everyday breakfasts and lively weekends. The concept engages all five senses through which we experience the world on a culinary journey. Sight is shaped through colour, form, and lighting; hearing through carefully selected music; touch through the textures of natural materials; and smell and taste, of course, through high-quality drinks and delicacies.
