
To accommodate the building, the street frontage needed to be narrowed from 35 to 30 meters. This adjustment was based on forecasts for future street development—the high likelihood of renovation of neighboring old residential buildings. It was crucial to carefully consider the pedestrian route connecting existing development with educational institutions and the central stadium.
The street frontage adjustment ensured alignment of pedestrian connections with the kindergarten on Krylov Street. Straightening the pedestrian route also affected the location of entrances to the dental building. The central entrance group faces the intersection, while the secondary entrance is on A. Barbusa Street.

The facility is designed on a small plot in the heart of Yekaterinburg, surrounded by dense development with established pedestrian connections.
The initially designed concept included 7 floors, which were optimized to 5 due to economic considerations. As a result, each department received its own floor, along with a floor for the laboratory.
The building’s shape was influenced by site constraints. A significant change in terrain had to be incorporated into the design. Additionally, fire safety regulations regarding the distance between buildings and access to engineering networks had to be adhered to.
The stumbling block was insolation. The building’s shape was altered due to regulations, resulting in a sloping form and two usable terraces. The sloping facade created a second facade hidden behind a parapet. From A. Barbusa Street, the building features a sloped section with an extending brass-coloured facade. The colour served as the basis for delicate camouflage and the artistic concept reveal.
Once the diagonal cut began to «resonate» in the form, it became clear that this technique needed to be enhanced with the building’s silhouette. Therefore, a sloping parapet was introduced, imitating a sloping roof that descends from the intersection to adjacent buildings. This accentuates the corner with the main entrance and visually reduces the building’s height to a 3-story building. A similar diagonal cut motif was used in the windows with sloping reveals.




Decorative solutions on the facade became an irony on the topic of «gold crowns» — a centuries-old symbol of prosperity. Brass-like material and the similar tint of window frames represent the gold. The white facade and brass highlight each other, providing a beneficial contrast.
The facade, both minimalist and characterful, features a pronounced rhythm. Window rhythm and even the first floor’s extended tile finish reference a row of teeth. These architectural techniques subtly emphasize the building’s functionality. Even service doors and the brass plaque at the central entrance fit into the «mouth full of gold» concept.
Through-coloured porcelain stoneware was selected for the façade cladding, so that the tile edges would not stand out against the clean white surface of the façade. The joints give the façade a clear tectonic rhythm without disrupting its integral appearance. The ground floor was finished with subway-style clinker tiles — a more durable material in use, which also refers to the overall concept of a «healthy smile.»
The top floor is dedicated to laboratory spaces and includes summer rooms. Thus, functionality was expanded with two terraces, one of which is accessible to clinic patients.


The planning solutions were developed through close collaboration with medical clients. This collaboration led to balanced architectural and functional solutions that met all business requirements and adhered to strict sanitary regulations.
The layout of the first floor includes two departments, accessible through a common vestibule at the main entrance. In the vestibule, traffic is divided to separate paediatric and adult departments. One department is designed to operate solely on the first floor, while the other extends to higher floors, requiring two lifts.
Working with medical professionals, the team planned the placement of various types of rooms (therapeutic, operating, pediatric), each with distinct regulations and different sizes. Besides specialized medical zones, there are general use areas, utility rooms, and administrative spaces.
A separate floor is dedicated to the paediatric department, designed with all the needs of young patients in mind. It includes a playroom, restrooms, and a foyer with special layouts intended to reduce stress during hospital visits.
The spaces are divided into service and public areas, separated by an access control system. Service restrooms, service entrances, and corridors allow for the smooth separation of traffic and conceal internal clinic operations. There are specialized rooms for X-ray facilities, instrument sterilization, and pharmaceutical preparation.
The reception area, separated from the vestibule, prevents the accumulation of guests in a single location. Auxiliary rooms for administrative needs, a guest restroom, and a cloakroom provide a base for the facility’s smooth operation. Waiting areas are separated from administrative rooms and offices to minimize patient stress from observing internal clinic processes.
The building is equipped with an individual thermal unit, a pump station, a compressor, and an electrical panel. All technical rooms are located on the underground level of the parking garage.
